Modus Operandi

Bhagirath Gram has a clear concept of Development through people's participation. Once a village is identified, a village level committee is formed which has representatives from that village and Bhagirath Gram Vikas Pratisthan. Initial baseline survey is done in which a complete list of available resources is prepared. This include the head count of cattle's, water bodies, cropping pattern, number of family, economical data and other vital information.

Committee decides on the action items to be focused on, and a common plan which every individual of the village has to implement. The organization follows a clear methodology of equal participation in terms of financial part. 50% of the required fund is contributed by the organization and rest 50% is pooled by the village. The Fund is deposited in the bank account opened in the name of the village. This fund is then used for various developmental initiatives as decided.

As per the organization's policy, Bhagirath Gram works in a village only for Three years, after which the committee and the bank account will be solely managed by the village people only. In successive year Bhagirath Gram acts as an advisory body to maintain the progress. Disbursement of financial Aid is decided by the committee. The fund is used for improving the village in various terms. Such as quality education, supporting micro entrepreneurship, Agro based and Agro allied activities. These Improvement programs will help in sustainable development, leading to prosperity in rural India.
